Pray About it

Hello Friends! Today I learned some interesting advice that I thought I’d share with y’all. I learned that life, well its not always what it seems. Yes, it can be great, and exciting, but life can also be hard. In this little excerpt I’m just going to express my thoughts on how to bring God into your life when it seems like it’s a never-ending chaotic mess. Before you click the big, scary red “X” and leave me alone and unread, I want you to look at your life and all the things that are causing you to be anxious or stressed. Is it an exam coming up, work, friends, relationships, family? Got your topic in mind? Great, now you’ve already gotten this far so might as well keep reading.

A lot of people are hesitant when it comes to labeling themselves as anxious people, but lets be real, anxiety is part of our human nature. We tend to worry about every little thing and are so fixated on trying to be our most put together and perfect self.. Philippians 4:6-7 says: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This verse is meant to give you guidelines about what to do with your life when you feel like it is crumbling around you. It says to pray, when I say pray, I mean examine your faith and pray in a way for you to fully experience God within conversation. It’s not always going to go the way you want, but at least you’re engaging in relational conversation with him. We must humble ourselves to God and respectfully ask him to work in and through us rather than do it all the way we want right away. We are only going to grow if we present our requests to God and patiently wait for him to move in us to do something about it. If we give thanks, we must also understand what he’s doing and the best way to do that is to ask him to use you in everyday life to achieve the requests you’re asking. If you’re anxious about an exam coming up, stop and pray that God will provide you with the motivation and determination to use the gifts he’s given you. If you’re anxious about a relationship or friendship, allow God to be a part of that as well and hopefully with the foundation of faith, you can make those relationships stronger. Don’t limit yourself because you’re anxious about what is coming next, instead, challenge yourself to be active listeners and peaceful communicators when it comes to seeking Gods assistance. Life isn’t always going to go the way you want, but through continuous prayer, repetitive growth, and complete vulnerability you can experience Gods grace at first hand.

What do you need to leave at his feet today?

What is causing you to be anxious and how can you bring God into the heart of it?

Write a Prayer out, a simple conversation between you and God. Let everything out and allow him to help you grow in areas of your life that are causing stress. It might surprise you how helpful prayer can be.

When life hands you lemons, pray about it.
