Unpack

Hi friends! thank you so much for coming back and reading my crazy thoughts. It means so much to me. I’m going to try and be more consistent with when post each time. I’m planning on uploading my little nuggets of writing each week for y’all to read. Hopefully I can stick with it on top of school and,I don’t know, life!

Today I mainly wanted to write about baggage. Now I don’t mean the cute luggage you pack on vacation or the baggage you wait for after a long flight. I’m talking about the heavy, overbearing, and enormously inconvenient life baggage. Everyone’s got something they’re lugging around all day. I’ve tried my best to be a light packer and minimize the amount of stuff I fill in my suitcase. I always think ahead and only bring what is necessary. It’s funny that we plan and pack small and smart for vacations but then when it comes to everyday life we don’t care how much stuff we bring along with us.

We’re all guilty of it. I have so many things constantly weighing me down and distracting me from being content, yet I so rarely set my baggage down and take out the inconvenience to make it lighter. We need to be more like a middle aged dad. Those guys are great! They’re organized, logical, strong, and reasonable. They only carry around the necessary things and they sure as hell won’t let themselves pack more than the fifty dollar weight restriction at the airport; it would be too unreasonable of them. We should live our life like were about to go on vacation, only bring what you need. It wouldn’t make sense to back boots if you’re going to the Bahamas and it wouldn’t be smart to bring 5 bathing suits to Aspen.

My advice to you, take it or leave it, is to figure out where you’re going or where you want to go in life, who you want to be, and what it’s going to take to get there. After that, only bring along things that would benefit you and your adventure on being your best self.

To help you out, I’ve created a small packing list so that you have an idea of what to bring on this life adventure you’re going on:

-Clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident

-Shoes of strength. Make sure to buy the ones that can’t be walked over.

-A blanket. Sometimes life gets pretty cold, bundle up and wait it out.

-Sunglasses. For your future, cause y’all… its going to be so bright!

-A planner. this adventure is going to get chaotic, get yourself a planner to relieve stress.

-Water. Clears your skin, wakes you up, hydrates your body… do I need to say more?

-Happiness. It’s on the same isle as love and smiles. Pack those as well 🙂

-A camera. You’re going to want to remember this amazing life adventure, be sure to take a lot of pictures!

-A map and a bible. For when you’re lost and need help.

Now, I’ve started you off with a pretty decent list. Finish packing and be on your way. Keep in mind that you won’t be needing negativity, lies, mean friends, or insecurities so just leave those things under your bed at home. Okay?

Remember, pack like a middle-aged dad, really think about the things you will need to help you have the best adventure, and only bring what is necessary. That heavy baggage you’ve been carrying around. Unpack it.

When Life Hands You Lemons, Unpack.
